At first glance, Screwww looks like it should be easy. The pieces leave a surprising amount of empty space inside the box, making it seem as if everything should fit without much effort.
Don't be fooled.
The puzzle consists of nine unusual pentomino-style pieces that must be packed into a 5 × 4 × 3 box. The box contains 60 unit spaces, while the nine pieces occupy only 45 of them. That means even in the solved state, a full quarter of the box remains empty.
Despite all that extra room, Screwww has only one solution. It is surprisingly difficult even to place eight pieces inside, let alone all nine. Many arrangements look promising, only to leave you with a final piece that refuses to fit.
Screwww was presented at every table during the award dinner on the final day of the International Puzzle Party, making it a memorable souvenir from one of the biggest annual gatherings of puzzle enthusiasts.
Goal: Pack all 9 pieces into the box.
