Tool Tray Puzzle – Tricky Packing Brain Teaser Gift for Mechanics & Puzzle Lovers
Tool Tray is a clever packing puzzle designed by Theo Geerinck and Symen Hovinga.
Inspired by the chaos of a busy workshop, the challenge is simple in theory: collect all the scattered tools and fit them neatly back onto the tray without any overlap. Sounds easy… until you actually try it.
The hexagonal tray may look spacious at first glance, but this puzzle is surprisingly tricky. Inside, you’ll find a collection of workshop tools including a hammer, power screwdriver, wrench, saw, file, pliers, and cutters. Each piece seems straightforward on its own, but finding the correct arrangement is far more difficult than expected.
While solving this puzzle, I constantly ended up with one tool left outside the tray. No matter how neatly I arranged the other pieces, it always felt absolutely impossible to make that final piece fit. After many failed attempts, endless reshuffling, and several hours of solving, I eventually found the correct solution. That moment when everything finally clicks is incredibly satisfying.
A fantastic packing puzzle with a fun workshop theme that will challenge even experienced puzzle solvers.
