Multi-Mixi is a fascinating mechanical puzzle designed by Douglas Engel, featuring a clever magnetic mechanism for manipulating pieces.
The puzzle consists of 64 pieces — 32 black and 32 white — arranged in a standard 8×8 chessboard pattern.
The goal sounds simple: remove all 64 pieces from the frame, mix them up, and place them back in a random arrangement. Now comes the real challenge — restore the original chessboard pattern using only the provided magnetic tool!
The tool allows you to lift several pieces at once, rotate them, and place them back in exactly the same position from which they were removed. You cannot rearrange individual pieces by hand. Every move requires careful planning to gradually bring the black and white squares back into their correct positions.
But the fun doesn't end there! Once you've restored the chessboard, let your imagination run wild! Try creating other interesting patterns using the same 64 pieces. Some examples are shown in the product photos, but there are plenty of other possibilities to explore.
